Julie - Week 17

April 28, 2015

Julie is trying to mobilize! She's good at rolling from her back to her front but still not so much at going from front to back. She's now interested in her exer-saucer, which has a camera that Mike took a video of her playing with while I was shooting my wedding this weekend. So adorable. What else? Oh, we think she was having tooth pains last night. She was REALLY chewing on her hands more than usual even, and was not eating all that well. I've read the sucking motion can hurt their mouth. I'm not sure if it was because of not eating her fill before bed but she woke up a bit furious at about 4:30am. Sigh... I tried everything I could think of to get her to sleep without it, but I ended up giving her a bottle. It was what she wanted, as less than 4 ounces conked her right back out. Oh Julie, let's not make that a habit!

Other than that, life goes on as usual. Grandma Patti is coming to watch Baby for us this weekend as we are going to Chicago (though what we are going to do is now a bit up in the air). Grandma Charyl comes home tomorrow. I think Julie will miss Aunt Jackie watching her, though I know she'll be glad to have Grandma back. Jackie calls her Punky and they are a very snuggly pair. She always smiles at Jackie when we are getting ready to leave.

Anyway, here's your weekly dose of Julie!

^So smiles!

^I call this face "Frump"

^We are very excited for summer in this outfit :)

Julie - Week 16

April 21, 2015

Julie is getting so big! I can't wait to see how much she's grown in about two more weeks at her next doctor's appointment. She's such a cutie too but oh, such a temper! She can get so cranky. We had her up in Harrison this weekend, and she was a bit of a fuss bus again. Not as bad as last time. This time, I think it was mostly that she was a bit over stimulated. We had lots of people there and lots of noise, she would fall asleep and wake right back up because of the loudness. Not to mention we were driving all over the place (meeting Great Aunt Charlotte, Uncle Keith, Aunt Lois, Uncle Al, Uncle Ted and Aunt Jean, and of course visiting Great Grandma Wanda). That was mostly Friday and Saturday, and she napped most of the day on Sunday. We did get to meet Joe, Heather, Connor and Hannah then too!

The most exciting thing is that Julie has learned to roll over! Wow, another thing to worry about. She's getting real good at it too. Daddy didn't come up north with us, so he saw it for the first time Sunday night. It wasn't nearly as much of a struggle that time, and she's getting quick about it. I sure do wake up a lot during the nights to make sure she's still on her back now! She's not the best at rolling back onto her back ;)

Quick not... I'm sad these aren't nicer looking. We rushed through them this week even though it turns out we didn't have to. And the rain made for crummy lighting. Thanks ;)

P.S. It still floors me at how much I love you. I can't even think about it without tearing up (right now!). You are my sweetest thing and I love you more than I ever thought possible.

Julies - Week 15

April 14, 2015

I'm finding that the little lady can be sweet as pie, but she's also got a temper! I told you of her impatience, but she also just has days where she wants to be a fusser! There was a night last week when there was NO pleasing her. Sometimes Mama just can't do it and Daddy can, and vice versa, and sometimes neither! We've found bouncing her really hard in the bird chair almost always works. Last night, we put her too bed a little too early. And of course she woke up at 3:15. Thankfully she fell back asleep, but only until 4:15. I thought she might be hungry but I DEFINITELY don't want her to get use to eating during the night again. So I rocked her awhile. Eventually, it had to be the bird chair. She got her suck and a bounce and fell asleep about 20 minutes in. She slept ALMOST another hour. Needless to say, I'm pretty tired this morning!

But the last few evenings, she's been such a good girl! Happy and a little chatty and she's getting so good at playing! She can reach out and grab toys, she likes her exersaucer arch (since she's still too little for the seat). Grandma Patti, Great Aunt Kim and Great Grandma Wanda came to visit (Auntie Kara was around too!) this weekend and she had lots of fun with them. We even have been getting lots of fresh air since the weather is finally turning. Thank God! Sunday, we went to the dam in Rockford and Julie got all sorts of fresh air and sunshine (well, she was in the shade, but close enough). So excited for more spring and all sorts of fun we're going to be having!

Julie - Week 14

April 7, 2015

Since opening day was this Monday, I decided for week 14 photos, Julie would wear one of her Tigers outfits. She even wore some white pants, which makes her look more baseball-y to me anyway. She was in a pretty good mood for this shoot but goodness, she was not afterwards! Such a cranky girl. Aunt Kara came over and she was such a fuss! She flipped out a few times and even though it was late, we ended up putting her down for a nap. Surprisingly, she woke up in a decent mood, let Auntie read to her and play for a bit, just in time for a quick bottle and back to bed. She slept great and seemed much less angry at the world this morning. Phew!

Julie has always been fussier at night but this last week it seems like she's a little more so. She usually fusses a bit when we put her to bed and then she falls asleep but we had a couple days there where she just cried and cried. I couldn't stand it anymore so I had to go get her. I don't like to hear or see her crying if I can do something. On Monday night, I even decided to sing her to sleep. She was extra awake so I just felt like it was a good thing to do. It was super precious, so I'm glad I did it.

A couple of the grandmas think she might be teething. There's nothing in there, but I've read it can get going as soon as 3 months before a tooth appears. Goodness, I sure hope it doesn't get much worse. She's still relatively good, but I hate to have her cry like that at night. At least she's still sleeping nicely through the night :)

^Baseball face!

^Oh so precious!

^Silly girl, as usual.

^She had lots of squawks and flaps for this session!

^Auntie Kara came along to smoosh her in the fuzz blanket :)

Julie: 3 Month Session

March 26, 2015

I am always doing quick iPhone photos of Julie on a daily basis, and then every week, we do her weekly photos on my faux-koti rug in the living room, and of course there are the month shots of her on the flowery yellow chair to show how much she's grown. Well, I promised that I would still do photos of my own little one while doing my regular photo work. Julie will get a 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and definitely a 12 month regular, full photo session! Finally, she's 3 months old and we've completed our first full session. She was NOT very cooperative but despite that, I ended up loving all the images I got of my little one. I'm already super excited for her next full session (6 months! wow!) at the end of June. Yay!

^Cute outfit number 1, complete with big ol' flower!

^She CAN sit up for a bit on her own. But it's best to have someone RIGHT there to grab her when she tips :)

^This is also her Easter outfit. So cute with that bonnet!

^Oh that face!

^Snoozing, because that was the ONLY way she was going to put up with any more photos.

^Pretty snoozer :)

^Favorite, perhaps? :D

^Time to wake up!

^Only ONE big, huge smile for Mama, but I'll take it.

^Definitely love these two shots.

^Perfect!
