Louie: Week 35

September 27, 2017

Laina is 8 months old now, and it's pretty hard to believe. She can crawl, push herself up into a sitting position, walk in the walker like a champ. She's pulled up and this weekend she learned how to wave! She is working on a tooth right now, though I don't think it's actually out yet. Unlike Jules, it looks like it's going to be a top tooth next.

This week was busy as usual. The girls and I went to play with Angie, Ellie and Simon. He's crawling and being mobile too, so that was fun. We didnt' stay long but Julie got her mac and cheese with Ellie Joy. Mom came up Friday evening and had dinner with us and Grandma Nore and Grandpa Mike (who watched the babies during photos for me). She hung out all weekend and that was fun. Julie let her have SOME Laina time, but Mom brought our old Sailor Moon dolls down so that occupied quite a bit of time. We went out to dinner on Saturday but it was just too dang hot to do much else. We walked quite a ways and poor Laina's cheeks were all red, but she was fine.

On Sunday, we got to see the Ronas's again. They had been sick but feeling better. They made us dinner and we let the girls play. Adalynn still isn't crawling, but she sits up and her and Laina were able to play NEAR each other haha! It was fun catching up anyway!

Eighth Month

September 25, 2017

I keep putting off the monthly posts and so I am just a bit late again this time around. Things are so much harder to get done with two kids, ESPECIALLY now that the little one is mobile! She loves to move around, and is a very fast crawler. She loves to pull all the toys off the shelf but she always prefers the one Julie is playing with (which doesn't typically sit well with Big Sister!) but they still love each other. Laina loves to eat. She's on to 2nd Foods and gobbles everything right up! She's got some new tricks too, but those happened AFTER she hit the month so I'll save those for the 9 month post!

It's "germ" season now that it's (starting to) get cooler out and the kids are all back in school. I've been worrying less now at least, though I still am nervous about Laina getting sick and being so little. But being more calm about it is a relief. She's pretty resilient anyway, so we'll manage this winter somehow!!!

Laina Lu: Week 34

September 20, 2017

What a week. Mommy and Daddy went to a concert on Thursday (Matchbox Twenty, AMAZING!!!) and so Laina and Jules stayed with Grandma Nore and Grandpa Mike. Then we came home for me to do TWO weddings over the weekend. Daddy got all the baby time he could want and more ;) It is SO HOT for September and the weddings wore me out but we had Kasen's dedication at the Lewis's church on Sunday so we went down for that. Then we hung out at their house, which was fun. Except Daddy had a headache and wasn't feeling good so we went home and he rested the rest of the night. We watched a movie and played. Daddy was still sick the next day AND our hot water had gone out so there was a lot of running around to do but we handled it!

More or less back to normal by Tuesday, other than TIRED. On Monday night, little Laina ALMOST did a pull up, twice. And Grandma Charyl confirmed on Tuesday that she did it in her crib and it was time to lower the mattress. We will have to do the same! Still no new teeth though!

Elaina Jae: Week 33

September 13, 2017

I got to spend the first time in weeks completely without responsibility on Friday. Nowhere to go, nothing particular to do. I find I'm actually more productive on those days! I was able to switch in Laina's nine month clothes and pack up newborn to some of the six month stuff. Nesting returns! I did a ton of laundry too, impressive. Then this weekend, the girls had a sleepover with Grandma Charyl and Grandpa Ron so Mommy and Daddy could go out to celebrate Auntie's 30th birthday. Cat cafe, dinner and drinks/dancing, hanging out, fun! Yay.

Julie was really warm on Sunday and ended up with ANOTHER ear infection. This one took her down a little harder than usual so she spent the whole week with Laina at Grandma Charyl's instead of school. And I've been in and out of work so much. AND it's going to be a super busy weekend and I won't even be around hardly at all... ugh. It'll be pretty good but I'm ready for a break. September is always so busy.

ANYWAY, Laina is wearing jammies in response to the craziness and busyness we've had and will be having this week. I was too lazy to do much else but it is still symbolic! It was getting late anyway ;) Ahhhh.

Family Photos at Wildwood Family Farms

Just about once a year, I like to make sure I get to be in a few professional photos. Last year, I saw some by GauperPhoto and knew I would want to do some with them this year when Laina was around. We did this August with the Ronas family at Wildwood Family Farms. It was a little warm and chasing Julie around made me all sweaty but the photos are so fun and personable. I want to do more already. Here they are (and some of the Ronas's because I stole some and couldn't resist!)
