Ninth Month

October 25, 2017

How is she nine months old already? They always say time goes faster when you have kids, and they aren't wrong. Babies just grow so fast. It's good, and I still love watching her do new things and get bigger, but I know it's very likely I won't get to watch it again and I maybe need to breath it in a little more than I have been doing. She's standing on her own (well, pulling herself up at least) and getting more teeth. And hair! I don't think we'll have two short-haired girls for long. Oh, Laina, don't grow TOO fast!

Wow, what a big girl! I started doing the Ages and Stages quizzes with Laina just recently and I think I filled it out wrong because it said she's behind in Fine Motor skills. She can pick up her toys, wack them together and make a general mess everywhere without trouble. Maybe it's because I said she couldn't pick up little foods yet (I just haven't had her try). I'm not worried. She's doing things a little different than Julie, but hey, different babies! She's my little smartie and she's getting an attitude too. Uh oh! Two crazy girls for me!

^Jules was in for photos this time, but she had to wear the pearls :D

Lu-er: Week 39

October 25, 2017

You've been out in the world longer than you were in my belly! Hooray for my big girl! You are crawling and getting into things left and right. The walker is a bit of a menace, as you tend to want to be right on top of people. Julie screams and cries when you are coming at her sometimes. It's more fun when she's in her car. You hit our ankles a lot and cooking in the kitchen is a challenge with you around but hey, at least you aren't getting into the cat food in that thing!

Last week, we went to the studio for your 9 month photos. Grandma Nore came to help, she's the best! Julie got to wear her Sailor Moon costume (you joined her as Mini Moon at the end of the session) and you wore one of the outfits I initially bought for your 6 month session. It's still big but it worked much better this time. We also put you in a pretty dress that was supposed to be Julie's first Christmas dress but it was too small by then. The sleeves are tight on you even now. Oh well, you looked cute!

I had my last wedding Saturday so you spent the day with Daddy and Julie. You went swinging for the first time! I got to do that with you a bit on Sunday as well. You definitely enjoy it. You are another fearless little lady, like Julie always was! In that vein, we went to see Gracie again. Julie took a ride and you had fun petting her face. Hopefully we can still visit and ride her when you are big enough to do it!

Your fourth tooth made it through over the weekend too and generally, all is well. And next week is your first Halloween! We'll see how that goes ;)

^We borrowed Big Sister's shirt for this week :D

^Lots of almost-smiles. It's getting trickier to convince you to grin for photos!

^Wearing Mommy's scarf.

^She's such a pretty big girl :D

Laina: 9 month session

October 25, 2017

Wow, I can't believe you are already 9 months old! You've been out longer than you were in at this point. And you are growing and learning and being pretty great. Talking (in a yelling, single-syllable sort of way) and crawling, even a little bit of standing at times, you really are fun to be around. Aside from the early morning wake up sessions of course. You are a sweetheart and Daddy, Mommy, and big sister Julie love you so much, more and more every day!

This session was pretty fun... short and sweet! We got you in an outfit I bought for your last session but was WAY too big. Still a bit big but you looked cute anyway. Then we used an outfit that was supposed to be for Julie's first Christmas but it was too small for her by then. It's barely fitting you already but we made it work and you looked adorable. Grandma Nore came to help again and we had fun.

To convince Julie that going to the studio wouldn't be so bad, she got to wear her Sailor Moon Halloween costume and I dressed you up too at the end. We didn't get as many shots as I wanted at our Halloween photo shoot so this made up for it!

^You are so beautiful!

^Kiss-a-Lu!

^Standing up like a big girl (and making Grandma Nore nervous!)

^Hehe!

^This is my favorite!

^Fashionable Lu.

^Those eyes!

^My lovely lady.

^Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon!

^I think she was "transforming" here :)

^Love you, Lu.

Louie: Week 38

October 18, 2017

I almost forgot to post this one! Oops! I did all the editing but none of the internet stuff. This past week, we went to an orchard. Trying to get the most out of the nice weather before it's gone for the year! Grandma Nore came with us, which was very nice, as it's hard to wrangle two babies. It was just supposed to be a Julie and Mommy date but she insisted she wanted you to come too. Awwww! Gladly! On Sunday, we went to Ellie's birthday party. Julie and you didn't socialize too much but it was still a fun time. You are also saying more and more consonants and crawling way too fast for my liking. You often find yourself in the bathroom (though I'm not sure why!) or in Pete's water. You like to put the food into the water. Yuck. Oh Lu!

^Julie helped pick this outfit out for you.

^Why so serious?!?

^Sister!

Lainer Lu: Week 37

October 11, 2017

You're tooth is finally threw, and I can see #4, just below. It looks like it's out too but I keep trying to feel it and not quite. You are not fussing about it hardly at all, and unlike your big sister, you are NOT drooling hardly at all. Chewing, yes, but not drooling. You are talking all the time now, mostly "da" and "ba" sounds but I've heard some "ma" and "la" sounds too! You even said Mama, but only in a baby sort of way that probably doesn't count but I'll take it!

You also got a boo boo this week, your poor little nose shows it in these photos. We were doing the Halloween photos at my studio and you crawled off the couch and did a face plant on the hardwood floor. We were a little worried about you at first but you were okay and we are glad. Just a slight battle wound to show for it.

You are growing and doing new things all the time. Sleeping has been a bit trickier and I'm not sure what else to do. You wake up almost but if I stick your suck back in your mouth, you are okay. But I still have to get up to do it. And if you DO wake up all the way, I get to fight with you to go back to sleep for an hour or so (like I had to Monday/Tuesday). Oh well, I do love those cute smiles and cuddles. I think if you guys had your own room, it would be easier but oh well, we've got what we've got. And I LOVE YOU! :D

^Not a lot of smiles this time... had to work hard for the ones I got!

^Working on that next tooth!
