Lainer Lu: Week 44

November 29, 2017

It was a fun, long weekend as Thanksgiving was this past week. We went up north to Grandma Patti's right on Wednesday and we didn't go home until Sunday (though Daddy left the day before). The weather was pretty nice so we even got to go outside a little bit. You rode in the old wagon we had when we were a kid (and fell asleep on a ride on the side-by-side!). You're first Thanksgiving was pretty good. Just like Julie, you did a little bit of walking (though you have to keep working on that!). Lots of steps, and one of your best walks yet too. You were kind of terrified of cousin Jeff for some reason, but you also got to meet Alan and Allyson, and you liked them anyway.

You played with Poopah a lot this weekend. He seemed to have a good time with you. Julie monopolized Grandma Patti some as usual, but everyone had fun. We went home Sunday as I mentioned, but we took our time because Daddy came down with pink eye. He kept it away from us, thankfully and we went on with life as usual :)

Meeting Santa at the Fredrick Meijer Gardens Christmas Party

November 26, 2017

Since we are members at the Gardens, Charles and Hien asked if we wanted to go to one of their Christmas parties. We met them up at the Gardens and had a pretty good time.

Little Laina got to meet Santa for the first time this weekend. Julie wasn't scared, and in fact, excited to see him, though she didn't really want to talk to him. But hey, she sat on his lap so that's a good deal. Laina just stared at him like "whaaa..?" It was cute. We waited in line quite awhile, but our friends were with us so it wasn't so bad.

After that, we had some dinner and walked around to see the Christmas trees, the greenhouse and the railway gardens. It was a fun little night with the kids.

^Oh Adalynn.

^Pretty!

^She was pretty excited. Laina just tolerated it ;)

^Adalynn said no!

Tenth Months

November 25, 2017

She's on the move... speed crawling and a little bit of walking! Laina can do quite a few steps in a row if she has her balance. And the crawling, when you say "Laina!" she knows you are after her and off she goes! All the messes she makes are annoying but still she's so fun. That toothy grin (almost have seven, but not quite!) is so sweet. She loves to wrestle and wants nothing more than attention (especially from her big sister, even if big sister doesn't want to give it!). She's starting to sleep better again and I love her so much!

I can't believe how big she's getting. I never can of course. She's prone to getting bumps and falling since she's trying to walk and stand up on everything. Also, Julie tends to be a little rough (though she still loves her so much). We are going into the thick of 'sick season' and I'm nervous but she's a tough little thing, we'll get through it!

Lainey: Week 43

November 22, 2017

Though it wasn't a terribly eventful week, there was still quite a bit going on. Grandma Charyl has been down in Indiana helping with Aunt Penny. Grandpa Ron had another week with Laina. At the end of the week, Julie and Laina both went to Grandma Nore and Grandpa Mike's. We had planned for that on Thursday but it was convenient because there was a stomach bug starting to go around at the daycare so it made me feel better to keep Julie away for a bit.

You guys went there Thursday and Friday, and we did a little mini Thanksgiving with them on Friday night when Mom and Dad got home. It was a nice time. The next day, we went and looked in to doing Julie's 3rd birthday at For the Kidz Gymnastics. You slept through that. But we went to lunch with Grandpa Ron and you woke up to hang out with us for that. It was a yucky day outside so we just stayed in after that.

Jules went to the doc the next morning with another ear infection but she was fine. We all just hung out on Sunday, did a little bit of cleaning, some play, the usual. We caught up on our photos for the week and you are still working on more teeth! I saw one this morning, it's ALMOST out, but not quite!

Oh and you are so close to walking. You can stand by yourself if someone balances you. And you can usually take four or five steps! This should be interesting!!!

^Oh, I'm not sure I want to do a photo shoot!

^Well, okay!

^Workin' on those teeth.

Lainerrrrr: Week 42

November 15, 2017

I ALMOST forgot to take photos this week, and that's why they are kind of bad. With the time change, I can't do them on Tuesday or Wednesday like we've always done, but now we have to do Friday or Sunday, which is too soon or too late but what can you do.

Julie had pink eye but we successfully were able to keep anyone else from getting it again. Laina was safe. We had a weekend away at Grandma and Grandpa's up north. Mommy drove the kids up and left them there to come back for a weekend away of her own. They had lots of fun, though Laina had a little bit of a tough time, Grandma though that maybe she missed me too much but I know it also had to do with her teeth.

Laina wakes up at least once if not twice a night. No particular reason I can figure out... could be teeth, could be just a random wake up and she's so used to being held to go to sleep that she just yells for it, could be still a bit cold in her room. I don't know but it's wearing me out. Hopefully we can get over that soon :(

^We did these photos on the bed so we had enough light. Not our best but oh well.

Poop-a-Lu: Week 41

November 8, 2017

Today, Laina got a checkup at the doctor's. She's 18 pounds, 12 ounces and is 28.5 inches long. Somewhere in the 56 pertentile for height, I think, and 76 or something for weight...? Anyway, the first numbers are right anyway! We went to Adaylnn's birthday party over the weekend, and that was fun. Laina was a busy girl, crawling around the place, and even had some Thai rice to eat, which she couldn't get enough of.

You've got another tooth (and the doctor said today it looks like you are working on quite a few more) but there are only 5 out at this point. You've been a tad bit fussy, so that makes sense, and you also have a cold. But I'm tired because you keep waking up in the middle of the night. It's easy to cuddle you back to sleep but not always easy to get you back in your crib. Phew. At least I can usually find a comfortable spot on the couch to sleep with you.

The house is in disarray whenever you are around, running all over the place in your walker and taking everything off the shelf. Grandma Patti said your Aunt Kara used to do that too. It's tiring. You make a bulk of the messes around. I call you Destructo Baby. It's funny when Julie says it ;)

You did a couple "almost walks" last night. You stand up, grab something, and turn like you are just going to saunter off to do whatever. Of course you fall but man, that's impressive. I'm not sure I'm ready for another toddler!

^Poor little snotty baby.

^Here's my new tooth!

^Over it ;)

Lainer: Week 40

November 1, 2017

It's been a busy week for this little bear. She had her first trick-or-treat experience, though she really didn't get anything. We braved that cold weather for almost two hours with the Ronas's and it was fun. She got a little irritated at the end but hey, it was a good time for most of it. Grandma Patti came to visit for the weekend, which the babies always like. She even watched them for me while I went to see Wicked with Kristin and Donna. Mike was GOING to go hunting but his back was hurting so that kind of put a damper on those plans.

Grandpa Ron has been watching Laina for the first two days of the week because of Aunt Penny needed Grandma Charyl with her this week. Or rather the kids need someone to take them to school. Penny's pretty sick so hopefully she's better soon. But Grandpa does great so that's okay. It's off to Grandma Nore and Grandpa Mike's for the rest of the week though!

Laina is really getting the hang of standing. She's also a speed demon in her walker, which is painful on the ankles and Julie gets really mad at her sometimes. Laina doesn't mind though. She enjoys tearing everything off the shelf as she goes along. Destructo Baby, sigh...
