Three Months Old

March 30, 2015

This little miss is such a sweetie. In the past month, she started chattering with everyone, giving lots more smiles, and she's learned to grab things and loves to put things in her mouth (especially her hands!). Though all the photos I wanted to take of her for her three month session didn't go so well (still working on those, I'll share soon), I still love her. She's going to learn to hate me and my camera if I'm not careful. But she's just so cute, how can I resist?

Julie - Week 12

March 24, 2015

It's hard to be at work right now. I want to go home and cuddle my baby and hold her. We just found out that someone we worked with lost his daughter. She was actually just a bit younger than me. I don't know any of the details about what happened but it just makes me so sick for them. Being a mom for 12 weeks isn't much but knowing the love that you never knew you could feel, then thinking of it being taken away, I can hardly stand it. I'm praying for them because I can't imagine what they are going through. I don't know how I could ever do without my baby.

Julie is such a wonderful little thing. She gets pretty fussy in the evenings. Last night (the day we took the photos) she was good when we first got home but after awhile, if I wasn't walking her around, she was irritated with me. Oh, and when the bottle I gave her wasn't enough... not a happy girl! Same has gone for pretty much the last three nights. But during the day, I have it on good authority (Grandma Charyl :) that she's quite the chatterbox, like she was this weekend, and a pretty happy girl. It makes me sad to be at work and missing all the fun conversations we could be having. I can't wait until Friday so she and I can bond some more. I really need it after today's news, especially.

This week will be photo-filled for little lady. Friday I will be doing her 3 month photo shoot. A REAL one, at the studio and everything. I love doing the quick weekly ones and the monthly set up (which I'm also going to do Friday, I think), but I want to make sure she gets a REAL session for 3-, 6-, 9-, and 12-months. Here's to the first one. I will post it after it's done.

But now, 12 week Julie. Super cute this week.

Visiting the Butterflies!

March 21, 2015

On the first day of spring, Mom, Kara and I took little Julie to see the butterflies at Fredrick Meijer Gardens. In all the years I've lived in Grand Rapids, I've never see the "Butterflies in Bloom" attraction. They do it every spring and I always mean to make it out to see it but this year, I made sure, just because I thought it would be fun to take Julie. She was sleeping in her car seat when we got there, and there were SO many people that I almost wanted to just forget it, but I'm glad we didn't. It was SUPER hot in the exhibit, which I knew it would be, and we didn't stay long, but we got lots of fun photos. And even though Julie didn't want to smile (still sleepy sleepy!), it was a good time. We stopped at Spoonlickers on the way home, for a snack for the big people. A perfect spring day :)

Baby Julie - Week 11

March 17, 2015

Finally, back to normal! This past week has been SO MUCH better for everyone. No one is sick anymore, the house is all cleaned up and Baby Julie is back to sleeping 8 hours a night. We are working on our nighttime routine. We've yet to get it down well... wiggles and tummy time on the floor, read a book, eat a bottle and then go to bed... but most of the time we get her in bed before 9:30pm and she sleeps until almost 5:30am every night. Grandma Charyl is also working on getting her on a napping schedule during the day too. That will be a good way to go as well.

It's so nice to be back to normal. Although pretty soon Charyl and Ron will be going to Florida and Aunt Jackie will be watching Julie for us. I hope it's a good transition for Baby and her. She's going to be at Ron and Charyl's so that will be helpful.

This weekend, my mom is going to come to town again. Dad or Grandma Wanda may come too but we're not sure yet. We're going to go to Fredrick Meijer Gardens and see the butterflies with Julie. I'm sure she won't car, but I bet it will be fun to photograph :) Look for that post soon!

^This fun outfit is from Grandma Patti :)

^We only got a couple 'almost' smiles out of her, but she was still very cute!

^Looking surprised! Daddy helped this week, maybe he was being weird for this one ;)

Julie - Week 10

March 10, 2015

It's been such a rough week or so. As my last weekly post mentioned, we got sick last week. Grandma Charyl and now, the fill-in sitters, Grandpa Mike and Grandma Lenore, got something too! I know it's going around but jeez! I called Julie's pediatrician to find out if she could have had the bug without showing symptoms. As it turns out, baby may have had it, thus her fussiness that I thought was just from the shots last week, and gave it to Grandma Charyl. The nurse I spoke to didn't THINK she could still share after all this time to Mike and Lenore, but who knows. All I know is now I'm afraid they have a different strain and we are all going to get it again. I'm really crossing my fingers.

Anyway, I had to pick baby up from Mike and Lenore's around 2pm because they were getting sick. We did photos of her for her 10 weeks in her jammies and sleeping because it really is a good example of how our week went! Say a little prayer that we ALL can just feel better and that the upcoming spring will have us all back to normal!

Newborn Photos - Part Two

January 7, 2015

I was super excited for Julie's newborn photos, even though I was still really tired (the exact reason why I wanted someone else to do her newborn photos)! Pamela Fallon Photography did a great job, we stayed at it for four and a half hours because Julie didn't go down to sleep QUITE as much as we hoped. But she did great. We got lots of photos of her, the pretty little thing. I love her so much, even if she did poop on me at the start of the session. Silly girl.

^My sweetest Baby Julie and me.

^Snuggles from Daddy.

^So pretty!

^Baby Fox :D

^A little more color.

^My favorite... 11x14 on our mantle as of tomorrow :)

^I still can't get babies to do this. Julie had no trouble, good job, Pam.

^This is going to be a big 20x30 canvas in Julie's room. We can finally finish decorating her nursery :D
