Grammy and Poopah: Summer Adventures

July 19-21 & July 27, 2019

We did a few things with Grammy and Poopah this summer, but some of the more exciting ones included our trip to the Woods and Water RV Park near White Cloud. It was CRAZY hot the first day we got there and we had a BIG storm overnight but it was still lots of fun. Mommy and Daddy stayed in the tent, Auntie spent the night once and visited the next evening too. Fun times!

The next weekend, we made it back up to Harrison to celebrate Poopah's birthday! There was lots of swimming, of course, and the girls helped Grammy make the cake. We saw Great Grandpa and Grandma Wanda, as well as Uncle Larry, Aunt Mary, and Aunt Kim too.

UP North (Part 2)

June 22 - 29, 2019

The second half of our trip included Kara and Byron! On Thursday, Mike and I did some trail riding. Mike really enjoyed that, and so did I, we wished we had two quads to take out. It was great exploring spots we hadn't seen before. On another note, we saw SO much more wildlife this year that we hadn't seen in years. I'm not sure what it was, but it was really cool.

Before Byron got there Thursday, we found a beach to hang out at. Lake Michigan was REALLY high, and the Club beach was non-existent. But there was a beach further West that we heard about from some locals and that was fine. It wasn't super warm, and the water was freezing (as I found out when I fell off the paddle board!) but we still had a good time. When Byron got there, we did another woods ride so he could experience the excitement.

Our next adventure was a trip to the Garlan Zoo on Friday. I was there a LONG time ago but I don't remember it having so many great animals to see. We had fun, and there were tons of peacocks and guinea hens around all over the place while you walked to each exhibit. Other than Julie's totally meltdown as we were leaving, we had a good time. After a LONG nap for the weevils, we had our last dinner, last ice cream run (with a quick and IMPORTANT photo stop right after!), and last woods ride. Ahhhh bittersweet.

We left fairly early on Saturday, but had time for some quick family photos and a walk to Lake Millecoquins before heading out. Oh, and the usual stop for breakfast together, too :)
