September 4-7, 2015
This week was very adventurous for our little baby girl. She went to South Haven with Daddy and me on Friday to see the beach at Lake Michigan and dip her feet in it for the first time. We had lunch at Clementine's and walked the pier, good times. She enjoyed the day, and didn't get a sunburn on her shoulders like Mom.
Saturday was our very last swim class. It was unfortunately cut short because someone (I believe from our class but not one of our babies) pooped in the pool. So very sad to end it early but it was a good six weeks of learning to enjoy the water (more?). After that, Kara, Jules, Mike and I went to Whitehall and Montague. We found a in-the-middle-of-nowhere place to eat that had a beach out back. Julie did some more splashing about, as she enjoys.
Traverse City with Grandma Patti was the next adventure. She pooped on the way up and made a big ol' mess, but otherwise it was a fun day. We stopped in Fishtown (Leland) for lunch and drove around looking for wineries. We went to two, and hopefully no one thought we were shitty people for being there with a baby ;) We then decided to find a beach where Julie actually got to go in the water in her swimsuit. I wish I had put mine on because she would have had more fun. But she did meet a nice little girl and her baby sister who was a couple months older than Jules. She even crawled over to play at one point. Julie only got a few bites of sand and got to fly through the water a bit. Good times.
We stayed the night and then visited the Old Mission Pointe lighthouse and the old State Hospital before a lunch at a brewery and heading home. Julie enjoyed her Labor Day weekend adventure, even if she did make a few more messes than I like to remember :)
