Dear New Baby: Part Eight

August 15, 2016

Dear New Baby,

So as I'm writing this, I feel like a bit of a contradiction but since about a week ago, I'm starting to feel a little more normal again. And by normal, I mean an ever-expanding version of myself that is NOT nauseous ALL the time, at least. A week ago Saturday was the first time I've really been active in forever and I credit that to feeling okay again. It's been off and on since then, but I definitely feel some sort of improvement. That doesn't mean stepping into the pantry doesn't make we want to (or actually) puke, as it always has, but at least I can function to some degree again.

The utter exhaustion is gone and the always-sick feeling is going away. This happened around week 16 or 17 so I'm just a touch ahead of schedule, kind of, so yay. Being that wedding season is picking back up again, I need it. Thank God for a slow one this year, I REALLY needed that and didn't even know it!

You and I went to photograph a wedding Saturday. Despite a lot of hiccups thrown in the general direction of this wedding, it was such a great one. I enjoyed myself despite being totally beat by the time it was over. Such a beautiful day and it wasn't in the 90s, so I'll count that as a win!

In other news, every time I ask Julie if she wants a brother or a sister, when she doesn't just say "no", her answer has been pretty consistently "brudder?". Always like that, as a question. It's pretty cute. Today I asked her does she know what a brother is and she said, "sister?". So that's also cute. I'm planning a gender reveal party for about a month from now so I'm pretty excited. I MUST be feeling better if I'm willing to plan events again. Woo hoo!

Love,
Your feeling better (a little, anyway)
Mommy
