Laina: Week 6

March 8, 2017

A lot has gone on in this past week. First of all, Laina is starting to smile. It's rare and requires a lot of coaxing but it's happening. You can see it in some of the photos! Also, we've finally gotten out of the house a little more. My anxiety is starting to settle down a little (thank God!) so we've been able to get out of the house. We went to the home show and strollered Laina around for an hour or so. Julie enjoyed leaving the house (she was driving me crazy and I'm sure she was bored at home with us all week... yikes! Tantrums!). We also were able to get to church on Sunday for the first time in forever. We briefly talked to Pastor Bob about getting Laina baptized, so we will see when that works out!

Julie got to go back to school Monday so Laina and I have been chilling together. We went to visit Angie, Josh, Ellie and Simon. She's so much bigger than Simon! I'm sure he'll catch up soon though. It was fun seeing them again. Laina slept most of the whole time we were there. Ellie is potty training, good luck, Ellie! After lunch, I left them alone and came home to chill with Laina. Yesterday, she went with me to my doctor's appointment (doing well, down 25 pounds, woo hoo!), and other than pooping while I was waiting for Dr. Lown, it was good. We made another trip to Dooge to see everyone and then relaxed at home. Aunt Bonnie was here so she got to see Laina again too. AND I was even able to get Laina in her crib for her first nap in there. She slept great. In fact, she's in there sleeping right now! Now to just get her to sleep all night.

I'm back to work next week so that'll be an adjustment. I'm sure Laina will be fine with Grandma Charyl though!

P.S. Julie-isms "All the days" and "all the games" are still in use. So funny. She also will say lots and lots of things that are usually hard to understand, but then is followed by "be right back, okay?" before she walks away. I think she got that from me. We also do a thing where I ask her "Guess who I love?" and she knows my answer is "It's you!" She will either tell me "It's you!" back or say "It's me." Equally cute. She calls Elaina "Laina Avalor". She likes her a lot too. So sweet. Can't wait until they can play together!

^Awww precious.

^Getting the hang of the smiling... kind of!

^My big girl!
