Miss Lu - Week 26

July 26, 2017

I took Thursday off so Angie, Ellie, and Simon could come over for a sleepover. It was interesting. After the big girls had pizza, we went downstairs to watch Frozen and you and Simon hung out on the floor. You were just rolling all around him, now that you are a pro at it. It was funny to watch except when you started kicking him! You woke up SUPER early the next day, and we had a heck of a time getting Ellie and Jules to sleep. Only Simon was a good sleepover guy! We finished the morning with our friends with pancakes and then we had ice cream before the Moe's went home. It was a fun time.

Grandma Nore and Grandpa Mike went with me to take your 6 month photos on Friday at the studio. We tried to make it quick because even though it was early in the morning, it was already HOT in there. You were a good sport and Julie even got in a few with you. Then we went to lunch with Grandma and Grandpa, which was fun too. After that, I had a meeting with potential clients, AND THEN we went up to Harrison for the weekend. You got to swim in the pool for the first time! I wanted to try to get you ready since swim classes start this coming weekend. You were a little leery at first but then you loved it. You went in twice over the weekend and Poopah wouldn't put you down! So cute.

You've started being more tolerant of eating baby food... you definitely haven't enjoyed it much yet. I've gotten you to be okay with eating green beans and squash (baby food versions). But that's it. We'll work on it! Tuesday we went to Fredrick Meijer Gardens to see a concert. It's kind of a cool set up and we got in free since we are members :) You and Julie just chilled and it was a fun family night! We might have to do that again!

Oh! And you had your 6 month checkup today too. Two shots and one more oral vaccine but you only cried for a bit and Grandma Charyl said you had no trouble all day. Good Lu! The doctor said everything looks good and you are at about 16.5 pounds and 84th percentile for height! Big baby :D

^Swimsuit lovely!

^Still loving those teeth ;)

^I hope you two always love each other as much as you do now!

Sixth Month

July 25, 2017

I can't believe half a year has past already! A year since I was all nauseated and pregnant, still not knowing if you were a boy or girl... You are growing so fast and it makes me more sad knowing that there's a good chance you are the last baby I will have. I won't miss a few things, but the age you are at now was lots of fun so that is very exciting!

You've gotten your first few teeth, started eating baby food (sort of... you aren't a big fan!) and can roll and hold your head up like a champ. You sleep on your belly (although not with your butt in the air like Julie did) and hate your car seat for more than a few minutes. You are a sweet thing and love your big sister. I think you'll start moving sooner than later so you can keep up with her! Or at least try!

^Sitting all by yourself! Still pretty tipsy though!

^What a sweetheart!

Laina's First Swim

July 22, 2017

Since little Lu is almost 6 months old, we figured it would be safe to finally take her in the pool. She starts swim lessons next week and I thought it might be good to get her in there before we have to do it at the Kroc Cetner. For some reason I didn't think she'd like it that much but she only started to cry twice, and really did seem to like it. She looks so serious the whole time but had lots of fun floating around with Grandpa Joe. She smiled a little, though I only caught one of them. She also enjoyed watching Julie swimming around in her life jacket. Looks like we might have two fish on our hands soon!

^Excited to swim!

^Loving her grammies!

^Julie is sick of the camera.

^Easing her on in...

^This one is all in, though!

^Grandpa loves Lu.

^Woo hoo!

^There's one little smile!

^So pretty.

^Julie likes to watch the water drip when she gets out... hopefully there was no peeing...

^Laina snuggles.

Lu Lu: Week 25

July 19, 2017

Somehow I ALMOST forgot to post these images! I edited them at home, so I'll just blame it on that ;) Anyway, part of the reason that happened is that was we had a sleepover on Wednesday (and that's why Simon is with you in your photos this week!), but more on that next week! THIS week we got to meet Kasen for the first time! We went down to see aunt Kristin, Declan, Livvy and Kasen at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. They had a dinosaur exhibit that the big girls enjoyed. After that, we stopped for donuts. You poor babies never get to do anything yet, poor things. Then we went back to Vicksburg and hung out there. It was nice to catch up with Kristin and let the girls play while you and Kasen ate and fell asleep!

You spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa on Saturday while Mom and Dad went kayaking with people from work, and the next day, you went to the nursery at church for the first time! Nothing exciting, there were only two of you in there anyway ;) But later that day, we went blueberry picking with the Ronas's, which was fun. As usual, you slept through all the exciting parts but at least it was an adventure!

^My sweetest Lu :)

^Bubbles and giggles.

^Laina is thrilled that Simon is here for her picture day!

^Baby buddies.

Blueberries!

July 16, 2017

We have been talking about it all summer but I was finally inspired to make it happen this weekend... we took the family (and friends) blueberry picking down toward Allegan. It was hard to find a place open on Sunday, which is why we had to go so far from home, but I found one. It was an adorable little store at Leduc's, and we bought quite a few blueberry items (bread, jam, salsa, a piece of pie and a stress ball that looks like a blueberry!) but when we got there, we found out there was no u-pick blueberries... oops! Missed that! Luckily, Charles came through and found us another place not too far away where we could do some picking. We weren't out at Forstner's very long because Julie got hot and droopy, but we got a good haul and the blueberries are really good! It was a fun afternoon, especially since we were able to get some dinner at Maude's Taproom in Allegan right after, and then some swimming at the Ronas's house!

^Time to get picking!

^Let's go!

^Adalynn is asleep... haha!

^YUMMY!

^Little pickers.

^Laina is sleeping too.

^Julie got hot and tired and was done before anyone else, so we had to go in, but we still got lots of blueberries!

^Of course she wanted to play in a puddle...

^Silly ladies.
