This week has been a BIG challenge. Laina started feeling yucky on Christmas day, and it was a bit downhill from there. Minor fever, very VERY fussy, and out of sorts. It took two days but we took her to the doctor. It was decided she had an ear infection (and we can only hope she's not prone to them like Julie is), but there was more going on because although her mini fever went away as soon as we started the amoxicillin, she wasn't eating well and had two little sores pop up on her lower lip. That's all we could see, so I think they may just be canker sores. But her top lip was chapped and kept splitting, and we suspect that maybe quite a few teeth are trying to come through. It's hard to tell because she won't let us near her mouth (even for medicine, which is tough), but she's been drooling a LOT more than usual...
Anyway, she's seemingly on the mend now, FINALLY, but it's been a lot of cuddling and whining and not getting enough sleep. Every time I'm in the room, Laina would cry and reach for me, which was fine when I could sit and hold her but it's been so busy, that was hard to do. I feel like I should have made more time for her. I'm sorry Lu :(
Julie's 3rd birthday party was this weekend. Since Lu wasn't feeling great, she didn't get to do much but otherwise the party was a good time. More on that in a previous post! We're sincerely hoping for better things, since the new year has started and we THINK little lady is getting better now.
