Hawaiian Honeymoon: Day Six & Seven

June 17, 2013

This day was just about the only one where we had an excursion that didn't end in me somewhat nauseous! We got up early to head back out to Haleakala to do the zipline there. I was pretty excited about this, and it did not disappoint, at least for me ;) It was pricey but really fun! Going fast and such! The guides were fun, and even though there were only five ziplines, the last one was amazing! It was a pendulum zipline which means you go WAYYYY down, back up, down the way you came and back again, where the girl finally caught us at the bottom. So cool!

We tried out snorkeling again in the afternoon, but the waves of course were making me woozy so I had to quit, I'm such a wuss! So instead, we went to find beer. We went to the Maui Brewing Company in the afternoon, which was really REALLY tasty, one of my favorite places we went to! Then we hung out by the pool at our resort (damn, it's always windy and chilly on Maui it seems!) where we caught the hula crew lighting the torches before heading off for the luau. Something entertaining for a bit at least :)

We ended up going to Whaler's Village which was at a neighboring resort. It had TONS of cool shops and such, and we had dinner at a place called Leilani's on the Beach, which was pretty cool (but slow and I didn't care for the food all that much) at least for the atmosphere. I found a new bookmark to replace the one I lost at the airport on my way home from Florida in the spring. Yay! Haha, the highlight of my day apparently ;)

The next day, it was finally time for us to go home. We made a quick stop at Whaler's Village again before we left to explore a little more. We went back to Paia (where we started our bike journey a few days before and a place we went through when we started the road to Hana). I don't really know what it was about it, but it was a really cool place. We just walked around and had lunch at a little Mexican joint (which was another of my favorite food stops!) and just enjoyed it. Finally we headed off to the airport to catch the plane home. It was pretty nice to finally get to go home, but it was a pretty fun trip at least!
